Biomass plays a significant role in energy use in developing countries; however, these resources are often used very, inefficiently. Recent technology developments have made possible improved conversion efficiencies for utility scale technologies. Ecolite Technologies feels that these developments may be of interest in the wake of recent policy changes occurring in several developing countries, with respect to independent power production.

Ecolite Technologies would undertake the installation of attractive cogeneration systems which use high pressure steam to generate electricity in a turbine and the lower pressure exhaust steam as process heat. The high efficiency, biomass direct combustion systems would provide for on-site electricity generation with additional electricity for sale to the local grid.
